Workshops for children that are implemented within the ‘Storytelling – Pričaj mi pričaj, želim da znam’ project of the Centre for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the municipality of Beočin, will be held in ‘Jovan Popović’ Primary School in Lug, Susek and Banoštor on 11 April.
Children from Lug will attend workshops at 10 a.m., children from Susek at 11.15 a.m., and children from Banoštor at 12.30 p.m. The project is implemented within the ‘Audience in Focus’ public call of the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation.
A week later, the project will be implemented in ‘Jovan Grčić Milenko’ Primary School in Beočin on 18 April from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The project is based on a specific type of workshop (the so-called storytelling method, which includes the use of different visual and sound props in order to revive characters and scenes from stories). The aim of the workshop is the popularisation of reading among the youngest, as well as raising awareness of reading as the precious tool for fostering mental health of children.
The project was initiated last year, and the workshops for children aged 3 to 7 were implemented in the city and the village of Beočin, Rakovac, Lug, Susek, Čerević and Banoštor. The implementation of project activities is planned until June this year.
