The ‘Good People’ Orchestra, consisting of young people with disabilities, will hold the ‘Sound Beam’ concert in the Egység Cultural Station for the second time in May.

After they performed in the introductory part of the ‘Future of Europe’ platform on 8 May, when they delighted the audience, they will perform within the platform on 23 May and once again demonstrate how prejudice is broken, that we all create art and that it is intended for everyone. The concert starts at 6 p.m., and the entrance is free.

Dozens of brilliant young people, who make the orchestra, use the Soundbeam technology, or the ‘Sound Beam’ system that detects the distance, direction and speed of movement in a defined space, and translates body gestures into control signals for making electronic music and multimedia manipulation. There is a direct relationship between the physical movement and the sound that is obtained. It is important that the device can also be used by children with very difficult, multiple learning and motor disabilities.

The sense of creation creates a great stimulus and motivation for active participation in other areas of life, which is a very important factor for integration into the environment for people and children with disabilities. The orchestra was founded in the ‘Milan Petrović’ Elementary and Secondary Boarding School, and it performed both independently and with professional musicians at the Novi Sad Jazz Festival, Street Musicians Festival, El System Music Art Project, and ‘Hearts and Harmony’ festival.

The ‘Future of Europe’ platform will include educative and circus workshops, exhibitions, festivals, concerts, theatre plays and many other activities. The focus is on children and young fellow citizens, who will have the opportunity to find cultural content according to their interests, but also to engage in creating new, different cultural contents, to learn about European values ​​and to show how they can contribute to cultural image of the city. 
More than 40 local and foreign organisations and cultural institutions are involved in the ‘Future of Europe’ platform. Programmes will last until 7 June, and detailed information can be found here.
