The ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation invites interested visual artists to apply to the call, by which they are being sent to the residential programme in Košice (Slovakia) within the ‘Artist in Residence’ (Plants AiR) residential programme. The residence will last approximately two months in the period from 6 May until 1 July 2019, and deadline for application is 31 March at midnight.

Potential candidates should be open to work with local artists and communities and willing to work on the in-situ project that will be the result of their residence.

It is necessary for candidates to be of legal age and citizens of the Republic of Serbia, have permanent or temporary residence on the territory of the Republic of Serbia (artists with permanent or temporary residence on the territory of the City of Novi Sad and partner municipalities in the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ project; municipalities of Irig, Beočin and Sremski Karlovci have priority), to actively pursue visual art, speak English fluently and that they have not been previously selected for the residential programmes organised by the Foundation or mobility programmes (Plants AiR, Kizuna, Mobility etc.).

The idea of the ‘Plants AiR’ residential programme of the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation is to enable and encourage the mobility of local artists, as well as networking and exchange of experiences through cooperation with other artists and European organisations.

Within the programme, 21 residences were organised – 15 artists stayed in Novi Sad during last year, while six artists from Novi Sad went on exchange programmes in several European organisations. This year, 22 artists will implement their projects within the ‘Plants AiR’ residential programme in Novi Sad or abroad.
