The ‘Museums for 10’ manifestation that lasts for 7 days, begins today, and will be held in 46 cities in Serbia, 76 museums and cultural institutions on 120 locations.
Several exhibitions that are implemented as part of the ‘Audience in Focus’ public call of the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation, will be held within the ‘Museums for 10’ manifestation.

‘The Collection of Lithography by Franz Geras – the Austrian Army (1620 – 1854)’ bilingual exhibition will be opened at the very beginning of this event in the Archives of Vojvodina on 13 May at 12 p.m. In order to promote cultural values, the Archives of Vojvodina wants to present lithographs of the Austrian artist Franz Gerash to the wider public. Lithographs show us the appearance of uniforms and equipment of the Habsburg Army of more than two centuries that belonged to people on the territory of today’s Vojvodina. The project fosters inter-institutional cooperation at the international level, as well as openness to audience with European dimension presenting cultural and artistic content.

Nebojša Kuzmanović, director of the Archives, Dragana Milošević, Provincial Secretary for Culture and Information, Nemanja Milenković, CEO of the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation, Thomas Ahamer, emissary of the Embassy of Austria in Serbia, and Ljiljana Bubnjević, the author, will speak at the opening.

The ‘Little School of Museology’ project of the Gallery of Matica Srpska that is being implemented within ‘The Young Choose’ exhibition, was also a part of the ‘Audience in Focus’ public call. On the last day of the ‘Museums for 10’ manifestation, high school students, who were part of ‘The Young Choose’ project, will have the opportunity to interpret the artwork presented at the ‘Đura Jakšić – Between Myth and Reality’ exhibition from their perspective. After the interpretation, the high school students of ‘Svetozar Miletić’ School of Economics will perform the ‘Novosadski Korzo’ theatre play that speaks about stories from the culture and history of Novi Sad and nurtures the memory of our cultural heritage.

‘Accessibility’ as part of ‘Museums for 10’

Within the same manifestation the ‘History in Images in the Sign Language’ exhibition, which emerged from the cooperation of the Archives of Vojvodina and the Association of Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Novi Sad, within the competition of increasing the accessibility of cultural institutions of the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation, will be held on 15 May at 6 p.m.
The aim of the project is to enable ‘marginalised’ social groups to participate more often in cultural life by inviting them regularly to cultural programmes. The project included the sign language training and guiding through current exhibitions of the Archives of Vojvodina.
