Creative Europe Forum Launches International Cultural Cooperation Within the ‘Future of Europe’ Platform in Novi Sad

Creative Europe Forum that deals with new ways of international cultural cooperation will be held for the first time in Novi Sad in the Svilara Cultural Station and in the Historical Archives of the City of Novi Sad on 16 and 17 May. It is a European Commission programme of support for the cultural sector and audiovisual activities, and this year’s topic ‘Relations: the Power of Cultural Cooperation’ will cover the issues of projects that encourage cooperation, fighting against hatred, stereotypes and various forms of social inequality.

Beginning of the two-day programme and the opening ceremony of the Forum will be held in the Svilara Cultural Station on 16 May at 11 a.m. After that, the ‘Public Spaces and Social Inequality’ lecture will be held by Lena From, from the Agency for Art in the Public Space in Sweden. On that occasion she will present the largest public project on the implementation of art in public spaces and history of Sweden.

The ‘Culture, Cooperation and Overcoming Stereotypes’ panel will be held in the Historical Archives of the City of Novi Sad at 1:15 p.m. while the presentation of the European Union programme and other programmes for co-finance will be held at 4 p.m. 
Also, the ‘Turbulator – Generator of Turbulent Practices of Marginal Art’ exhibition will be opened in the Svilara Cultural Station on 16 May at 8 p.m. The exhibition presents unpredictable art with different names: art bunt, art of outsider or self-taught, raw art and non-institutional art. Along with the programmes in the Silara Cultural Station and the Historical Archives of the City of Novi Sad, on the first day of the Novi Sad edition of the Creative Europe Forum, all interested, who applied for the workshop, will learn more about the topic ‘PR of Institutions and Organisations in Culture on Social Networks’ which will be led by Marija Stevuljević (EU Info Center).

The Forum will be opened with the ‘Critical Thought in Culture and Art’ panel in the Svilara Cultural Station on 17 May at 11:45 a.m., and the ‘Brainstorming of New Cooperations’ workshop for cultural managers will be held at 4 p.m. At the same time, in the Historical Archives of the City of Novi Sad the visitors will have a chance to participate in the ‘Art for Everyone or How to Involve Persons Deprived of Liberty and Young Offenders in Cultural Programmes’ workshop.

Creative Europe Forum is implemented through partnerships in three cities, Novi Sad, Niš and Belgrade and includes education, exchange, involvement and connection of local and foreign cultural workers. 
The European Commission programme for supporting the cultural sector and audiovisual activities is being implemented within the ‘Future of Europe’ platform of the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ project in cooperation with Creative Europe Desk.

Marking the 100th anniversary of Bauhaus within the ‘Future of Europe’ platform

On the occasion of the centenary of the beginning of the Bauhaus movement and its significance for the architectural development of our city, programmes dedicated to promoting the modernistic heritage of Novi Sad will be held within the ‘Future of Europe’ platform. In that manner, experts for Bauhaus from Israel and Germany will study our heritage with our students, as well as new ways of interpreting heritage, and it will result in special walks for citizens that will be held on 25 and 26 May. 
A day earlier, the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina will open its door to citizens for the first time, thus they will have a chance to learn about modernistic heritage. The ‘Walk’ through the Assembly will be also organised on 31 May. The whole project is being implemented in cooperation with the Association of Architects of Novi Sad, the Goethe Institute and the Embassy of Israel, thanks to which the ‘Bauhaus and International Style Buildings in Tel Aviv’ exhibition will be opened in the Svilara Cultural Station on 20 May.

All citizens interested in the walk through Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina may apply here, while applications for the ‘Walks’ will be opened next week, on 25 and 26 May.

The ‘Future of Europe’ platform will include educative and circus workshops, exhibitions, festivals, concerts, theatre plays and many other activities. The focus is on children and young fellow citizens, who will have the opportunity to find cultural content according to their interests, but also to engage in creating new, different cultural contents, to learn about European values ​​and to show how they can contribute to cultural image of the city. The ‘Future of Europe’ conference deals with finding new narratives for Europe and explores the role of art of culture in preventing negative social tendencies in the EU. In this context, models of the future development of Europe are explored with cultural managers and creators.

More than 40 local and foreign organisations and cultural institutions are involved in the ‘Future of Europe’ platform. Programmes will last until 7 June, and detailed information can be found here.

Аутор визуелно-уметничког дела поставке је Душан Јововић, који је уједно и аутор престижних мултимедијалних и интерактивних изложби које су имале међународни одјек. Аутор наратива је проф. др Александар Петровић, изузетан познавалац живота и дела Милутина Миланковића, којим се бави преко 50 година.
