This year, the 16th edition of the ‘Bunker Fest’ entitled ‘Garage Boys’ will be held in the Egység Cultural Station, on 14 and 15 November. The festival is dedicated to graphic novels, as a specific genre, which is becoming more popular in publishing, both in the world and Serbia. Fans of comics and graphic novels will have a chance to follow exhibitions, discussion with authors and publishers, as well as to buy their favourite editions at the exchange of comic books.
The graphic novel is neither an illustrated book, nor a comic book. It is a specific genre whose narrative is influenced both by visual and textual material.
In publishing practice, it has been particularly developed among French-Belgian publishers, and today, it is adopted and established in all developed publishing cultures.
You can find detailed programme on the official website of Cultural Stations.
The ‘Bunker Fest’ is one of the 42 projects that received funds within the Public call within the ‘Artists. Now!’ project, aimed at strengthening local cultural scene, raising its capacities through a network of cultural stations, decentralisation of culture and audience development.
