The ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation will be a part of the event of the ‘Sharing Heritage – Sharing Values’ European Policy Debate in Berlin on 22 June within the European Cultural Heritage Summit that was recognised as one of the key public events within the European Year of Cultural Heritage.

Mr Nemanja Milenković, CEO of the Foundation, will participate in this event on behalf of the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation, within the ‘Bridging of Local and European’ session which will present the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ project, the main values and beliefs that are starting points towards completing the mission of the Foundation, which is to design and present programmes that use culture as a catalyst for the city development. This will allow Novi Sad to achieve its potential on the local and international cultural scene.

Besides Mr Milenković, participants of the ‘Bridging Local and European’ session will be Lars Amréus, general director of the Committee for National Heritage, Sweden; Rafał Dutkiewicz, Mayor of Wrocław, Poland; Markus Lewe, President of the Association of German Cities/Mayor of Münster, Germany; Nina Obuljen Koržinek, Minister of Culture, Croatia; Oliver Nartin, President of the Council of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM)/head of the Swiss Federal Office of Culture, Switzerland. The session will be presided by Beatrice Kelly, National Coordinator for the European Year of Cultural Heritage in Ireland/Head of Policy and Research of the Heritage Council, Ireland.

The idea of the European Cultural Heritage Summit is to engage, gather and include various interest groups, in order to implement very ambitious programme in the Year of Cultural Heritage. The Summit will be attended by representatives of European institutions, European member countries and organisations of the civil society from across Europe.
