Future of Europe: World Famous Choir, Theatre for Children and Branko Kockica in Novi Sad

Within the ‘Future of Europe’ platform Novi Sad will host great students of magnificent voices that are members of the ‘Schola Cantorum’ Choir of the University of Arkansas, USA. In addition to this, numerous programmes for children and youth will be organised the following days in Novi Sad.

As one of the main objectives of the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ project is linking young and creative people from Novi Sad with those from Europe and the rest of the world, one of the best choirs in the world that consists of 36 most talented students of the University of Arkansas arrives in Novi Sad on 18 May. The choir performs about 20 concerts every academic year, and Novi Sad is on their list this year. A capella concert will be held in the Svilara Cultural Station at 8 p.m.

They have proved to be among the best by their glorious 50-year history, which included numerous national and international performances, national television, concerts during numerous ceremonies, and their vocals enchanted the audience in world famous concert halls. The ‘Schola Cantorum’ choir of the University of Arkansas was the first American choir that won the ‘Guido d’Arezzo’ prize at the international polyphony choir competition in Europe in 1962.

The weekend in Novi Sad is reserved for the youngest citizens. Third Festival of short theatre forms for children ‘Teatar na Dar 2019’ will be held in the Slana Bara Sport Centre (Sentadrejski road no 106b) on 18 and 19 May. Both days the programme will start at 2 p.m., and laughter and fun will last until 9 p.m. Entrance is free.

The ‘Future of Europe’ programme platform included wonderful cultural content for children, and this time the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ project spreads the field of culture outside the city centre and invites all children to socialise and enjoy a quality programme at Slana Bara during weekend, where a new cultural station will be finished by the end of the year, offering space for creative expression, non-formal education and quality free time.

Special guest that marked the childhood of many generations and uses every opportunity to hang out with ‘some new kids’, is legendary Branko Kockica from the ‘Puž’ Theatre for Children.

Twelve theatre troupes and associations will perform at the festival, and some of them are: ‘Pozorište iz Kofera’, ‘Teatrilo’, ‘Upalimo Reflektore’, ‘Visoko C’, ‘Novosadski Novi Teatar’, ‘Pozorište iz Ranca’, ‘Nadatheatre’ and ‘Željko Veseljko’.

The time between performances will be well spent on creative workshops of the ‘Slanobarska Maštionica’, as well as socialising with writers and actors, such as Tatjana Pupovac, Tatjana Obradović Podobnik, Jugoslav Krajinov, Ružica Bojović, Biljana Mrmoš and others. Vila Četkica and Dinosurus from the Novi Sad Dino Park will also arrive to Klisa. 
The whole entertainment will be enriched with animators and magicians, while the youngest can expect sweets.

The ‘Future of Europe’ platform will include educative and circus workshops, exhibitions, festivals, concerts, theatre plays and many other activities. The focus is on children and young fellow citizens, who will have the opportunity to find cultural content according to their interests, but also to engage in creating new, different cultural contents, to learn about European values ​​and to show how they can contribute to cultural image of the city. 
More than 40 local and foreign organisations and cultural institutions are involved in the ‘Future of Europe’ platform. Programmes will last until 7 June, and detailed information can be found here

Izložba „Vreme i vaseljena – izložba o vremenu” povešće nas na putovanje od tame do svetlosti, od haosa do kosmosa, okvirena pričom o srpskom naučniku Milutinu Milankoviću kroz prizmu umetnosti.

Nastup ovog muzičkog vizionara, koji na autentičan način spaja džez sa drugim umetničkim žanrovima, gledaćemo u okviru Dočeka 2022. godine.

Наступ овог музичког визионара, који на аутентичан начин спаја џез са другим уметничким жанровима, гледаћемо у оквиру Дочека 2022. године.

Аутор визуелно-уметничког дела поставке је Душан Јововић, који је уједно и аутор престижних мултимедијалних и интерактивних изложби које су имале међународни одјек. Аутор наратива је проф. др Александар Петровић, изузетан познавалац живота и дела Милутина Миланковића, којим се бави преко 50 година.
