Members of ‘Jovan Jovanović Zmaj’ High School choir, gathered on the quay, at the Monument to the Victims of the Raid, where they held letters which made the inscription ‘Novi Sad 2021’ and ‘Osijek 2020’. It was a performance, organised by the Organisation Board of the candidacy of Novi Sad for the European Capital of Culture, thus providing support for the City of Osijek, who submitted bid-book for the European Capital of Culture on 17 April. In this way, the cooperation between two project continued and it will intensify in the future.
Regarding the candidacy of Osijek, the city also organised a performance where 2,020 young people from Osijek held their arms together and made a huge ring around the old part of the city – Tvrđa (Fortress) and thus supported their city on the way to the title of European Capital of Culture. The smiles of young people and their enthusiasm clearly showed a strong desire of new generations that their cities win this prestigious title. In addition, we remind you that on 16 April we published the notification for submitting project ideas for the candidacy of Novi Sad for the European Capital of Culture in 2021. The goal of this invitation, symbolically named ‘Let’s Create Together’, is the creation of original and innovative program concepts and the involvement of citizens and general public in the process of candidacy. Criteria for submission and all other information can be found here. Completed applications should be submitted to the internet address predlog@novisad2021.rs no later than 15 May 2015.
