The ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation, set the task of strengthening human and spatial resources as the main strategic decision for the first year of work in order to promote new ways to be creative.

In accordance with this, the Foundation gave wholehearted support to the ‘Eufonija’ project and concert that brings together the accordion and symphony instruments, which is the first concert of this type in Serbia. The performance starts symbolically at 20:21 on Saturday, 27 May in Studio M with the concert for the accordion and orchestra entitled ‘New Serbian Music for the Accordion – Tribute to Brucci’. This will be the chance to hear, for the first time in the history of music art in Serbia, the concert for the accordion and orchestra by the young Serbian composer Lazar Đorđević. Darko Dimitrijević will play the violin solo, and Aleksandar Strahovski, last year’s winner of the Classical Accordion Festival in Pula, will be the special guest. This event is also important because the ‘New Serbian Music for the Accordion – Tribute to Brucci’ official initiates the international cooperation with Croatia, i.e. partner festival in Pula, established in late 2015.

‘Eufonija’ international festival of the accordion and chamber music, was created in order to develop a world renowned festival in Novi Sad and to promote the art of the accordion at the highest level, as well as to create an event that will gather young talented accordionists from Europe and be an important factor in their art carriers.

The festival includes three segments: competition, education (lectures of the renowned individuals from the world of classical music) and culture (evening concerts).

This year, the festival programme is marked by commemoration of an important jubilee for Novi Sad and classical accordion – 100 years since the birth of the composer Rudolf Brucci.

As stated by the organisers, and according to the opinion of experts, contestants and visitors, the ‘Eufonija’ festival is one of the most promising events of this type in the Balkans.
