Tourist Organisation of Novi Sad (TONS) Promotes Two European Titles at the Tourism Fair

Tourist Organisation of Novi Sad (TONS) will traditionally attend the Tourism Fair in Belgrade, which will be held between 23 and 26 February. The already rich tourist offer of Novi Sad can now add prestigious European titles – European Capital of Culture in 2021, and European Youth Capital in 2019.

Belgrade Tourism Fair, as the biggest fair that promotes tourism and tourist potentials in the region, will be a great opportunity for the Tourist Organisation of Novi Sad and ‘Novi Sad 2021’ foundation to jointly present some of the projects that will be implemented in the following years, as well as during 2021 when Novi Sad will be one of the three European cultural centres.

The TONS state-of-the-art booth will present not only these two titles, but tourist organisation that offer tours for visiting our city all year round. Other promotions will include accommodation facilities, cultural institutions such as the Museum of Vojvodina and Atelier 61, the most prominent festivals of Novi Sad like the EXIT, Serbia Fashion Week, Cabbage Festival in Futog, and many others.

As representatives of the TONS said, Novi Sad has built an image of a ‘city break’ destination, offering tourists rich content and unforgettable moments, which is why they always come back to Novi Sad. According to the latest data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, there were 174,489 tourists from 75 countries on the territory of Novi Sad during 2016. This is an increase of 15.3% when compared to the same period (January-December) last year.

Moreover, the six exhibition halls at the Belgrade Fair will host more than 1000 exhibitors from 56 countries. The China National Tourist Office, with the seat in Budapest, will present itself for the first time, and visitors will have a chance to inform themselves about the regions of the Russian Federation. The partner country of the 39th Tourism Fair is Montenegro.
