From Tuesday 28 February until Friday 3 March, Dr Corina Turșie, who has conducted research in the field of the European Capital of Culture projects, will be a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad within the Erasmus+ exchange student programme.
Dr Corina Turșie is a Vice Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Philosophy and Communication Sciences at the West University of Timișoara, and she will hold lectures for all students of, and persons employed at the University of Novi Sad about programmes and projects of the European Capital of Culture.
Among other things, Dr Corina Turșie has prepared lectures that will discuss urban renovation of heritage of former communist cities in central and east Europe, which include former European Capitals of Culture – Pécs, Tallinn, Maribor, Riga, Plzeň, and Wrocław. Dr Turșie will also present the research on centre-periphery relationship in cities what were European Capitals of Culture, and she will also discuss the reconstruction of city identity within this important project.
Lectures are in English, and are intended for students of, and persons employed at the University of Novi Sad, but we would like to stress that they are open for all interested citizens. The main idea of these lectures is to inform students and citizens, raise creative and cultural capacities, as well as awareness on the importance and benefits of the European Capital of Culture project.
