In his visit to Novi Sad , Minister Vladan Vukosavljevic said that he would do everything in his power to help the project „Novi Sad 2021“ as an initiative not only important for the citizens of Novi Sad, but also for the whole country.
In the conversation with the Mayor of Novi Sad, Mr. Miloš Vučević, Minister of Culture and Information gave full support to the candidacy of Novi Sad for the European Capital of Culture in 2021, which was, in addition to already gained support from the Cabinet of the Mayor of Novi Sad, as well as the Provincial government, declared as a project of national importance.
Last week Vukosavljevic and Vučević, together with the President of the Provincial Government, Igor Mirovic, and Provincial Secretary for Culture, Public Information and Relations with religious communities, Miroslav Štatkić, hosted the representatives of the Panel of independent experts of the European Commission, which will for a little more than two weeks decide whether Novi Sad will become European Capital of Culture in 2021.
„We talked with the Commission which decides on the status of the ECoC for 2021, where Novi Sad is in the finals, and we presented to its members the strong support of the Ministry of Culture and the Government of Serbia for the process of candidacy. We will do everything in our power to help, both in terms of technical and financial assistance, as well as with organization and program, „said Vukosavljevic.
Hosts to the Members of the Panel of Independent experts of the European Commission Mr. Steven Green, Mrs. Susanna Žilič Fiser and Mrs.Gloria Lorenzo Lerones in Novi Sad were the President of the Organizing Committee of Novi Sad 2021, Mr. Nemanja Milenkovic, as well as a member of the City Council for Culture, Mr. Dalibor Rozic.
