The Government of the Republic of Serbia is ready to invest significant funds in Novi Sad after the proclamation for one of the three European Capitals of Culture in 2021.
After the joint meeting of the Government of the Republic Serbia and the Government of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vučić, said that the concrete projects have been agreed and that „the first money has been transferred to Novi Sad for the decoration of city parts and facades,“ and that these are only the initial investments, while significant funds intended for capacity building for the project „Novi Sad 2021″can be expected.
As the Prime Minister emphasized, in preparation to be European Capital of Culture, Novi Sad will be one of the most beautiful European cities.
As it was earlier announced, the first part of the urban design of Novi Sad to meet the year 2021 in which it will be the European Capital of Culture is going to be decoration of facades and the most significant cultural and historical buildings in the city center, Almaški quart and the Suburbium of Petrovaradin fortress. Restoration of infrastructure networks and public areas has also been planned, and it was announced today that traffic signalization among Novi Sad and other cities will be in multiple languages.
