We could not get better news shortly before the celebration of 56 years of establishment of the University of Novi Sad, and it happened a few days before the University of Novi Sad, on the anniversary of its existence, promoted honorary doctor of science and new professors emeriti: University of Novi Sad became a member of University Network of European Capital of Culture.

“It is our great pleasure that your membership has been accepted by the Board of UNeECC. We look forward to meeting you in the future Capitals of Culture, to continue building our network of university collaboration and European culture with colleagues, students and institutions. Let me welcome you officially to the UNeCC,” wrote Flora Carrijn, President of the University Network of the European Capitals of Culture, to Prof. Dusan Nikolic, Rector of the University of Novi Sad.

The news that 14 Faculties of University of Novi Sad, and more than 50 thousand students who are currently studying there will be networked with the Universities of European Capitals of Culture, arrived in the days when the University of Novi Sad became, for the next three years, the seat of state Universities of Serbia.
