Cypriot town of Paphos will be one of the European Capitals of Culture in 2017, and its experiences mean a lot to Novi Sad in preparations for 2021 when our city will bear this prestigious title.
Mayor of Novi Sad, Mr. Miloš Vučević, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Serbia, HE Constantinos Eliades, who congratulated him on declaration of Novi Sad for the European Capital of Culture 2021.
Vučević and Eliades agreed that the experiences of Pafos will mean a lot to Novi Sad, and cooperation between the two cities will be established in the future. During the meeting they highlighted the importance of obtaining the title of European Capital of Culture for the general progress of the city and the intensification of international cooperation.
Let us also remind that Novi Sad is shortlisted for European Youth Capital 2019, and the team that worked on the candidacy eagerly awaits the results of the competition, which will be announced on November 16th.
